When working with DNS, remember to unlock your domain

When modifying your domain's AMP/DNS - remember to unlock domain!

When trying to do something with your domain (change settings and the like), remember that you probably need to unlock your domain before you can actually save your new stuff.

Examples

I was trying to point my codejobler.com domain to use Noah's hosting service, InMotion, and it wouldn't let me actually set the name server to what I needed.

Noah and I both were sort of stymied on what to do. We tried several different approaches, but nothing worked. We did get the domain to work as a sub-domain, but ... Not really what we needed.

Anyway, at some point, it hit Noah that people typically lock their domain, so it can't be transferred without you knowing, so ... If you want to make some changes, you have to unlock your domain for those changes to take affect, just like if you were going to transfer your domain to somewhere else.

Anyway, not a big deal, but once we unlocked it, the changes went through without a problem and we could hit the site without any issues.

It goes without saying (but I will anyway), we locked the domain back up after verifying that it all worked. ;-)
